There’s some debate about how kratom’s alkaloids interact with temperature.

Some sources report that kratom’s alkaloids break down at the temperatures required for baking. Some more recent sources report that these alkaloids actually endure heat quite well, making baking a viable option.

Our first-hand experience suggests that baking with kratom is a perfectly viable option, but your mileage may vary, and only firsthand experience can tell you for sure!

Still, you might consider adjusting your baking temperature and time accordingly, just in case!

Delightful and Delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Kratom Cookies

Chocolate peanut butter kratom cookies: the name is a wordy mouthful, but the cookies themselves are a delicious mouthful!

Here’s one of our favorite recipes for kratom cookies, combining a few classic cookie tastes that just happen to perfectly complement kratom’s natural, earthy flavor.

Here’s what to do:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons finely ground kratom powder
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then add the vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Carefully fold in the finely ground kratom powder, ensuring even distribution throughout the dough.
  7. Gently fold in the peanut butter until well incorporated into the dough.
  8. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.
  9. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. The centers may appear slightly underdone, but they will firm up as they cool.
  11. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
