What is Black Vein Kratom?

There are a lot of kratom strains out there. And every once in a while, a new one pops up that has even experienced users scratching their heads trying to figure out just what the thing is.

Case in point: Black Vein Kratom

Black Vein Kratom is certainly one of the rarer strains. Few vendors sell it, and even fewer users have tried it, let alone know what makes it distinct.

So is it even real? Or is it yet another marketing gimmick that shady kratom vendors are trying to sling?

Turns out, it might be a little of both, depending on where you shop.

Black Kratom Is Not A Natural Kratom Stage

An important thing to note: Black Vein Kratom is not, strictly speaking, a natural form of kratom.

White, Green, and Red Vein kratom all come from kratom leaves, and the colors reflect the stage of the tree’s maturity at harvest.

But Black Vein Kratom (or simply “black kratom”) is a little different. It’s not a product of the kratom tree’s maturation at all!

In fact, pinning down exactly what black kratom is is more difficult than you may think…

Black Kratom: One Term For Too Many Things

Black Vein Kratom is not only uncommon, it’s also terrifically inconsistent.

Depending on which source you’re reading, you may get a wildly different explanation for just what black kratom is and how it’s made.

The two most common explanations are these:

  • Black kratom is a red kratom that has been fermented multiple times, similar to Bentuangie Kratom but even moreso
  • Black kratom is a kratom strain that has been roasted, giving it a darker color

Both of these processes have an effect on not only the strain’s appearance, but also its effects.

Most sources and anecdotal reports claim that black kratom veers more towards night-time effects, a la a powerful red vein kratom strain.

Different Black Kratom Vendors Will Offer Very Different Products

But again: depending on the source you’re getting and how they produce their black kratom, you may have a wildly different experience.

For instance, a vendor who triple-ferments their red kratom to produce black will most likely offer a more pronounced effect than the red strain that was used.

However, vendors who roast their kratom may actually be doing you a disservice!

That’s because kratom’s alkaloids actually degrade at high temperatures. It’s the same reason that you need to be careful with your water temperature when you’re brewing kratom tea: too much will kill the alkaloids and reduce your kratom’s potency.

So what you get when you’re shopping for black kratom could be wildly different products, depending on where you shop!

Do Your Research: Pick The Right Kratom Vendor

This isn’t even a pitch for Kratom Spot — ’cause we don’t even sell black kratom.

But seriously: do the legwork when it comes to picking kratom vendors. That’s especially true when you’re shopping for uncommon and poorly-defined strains like black kratom.

There are a surprising number of kratom scams out there. Odds are, if you can’t find ample descriptions of a strain from reputable sources, you’re dealing with one — or at least one that’s scam adjacent.

Black kratom as case in point: it’s a real thing. Or rather, it’s a bunch of real things that are confusingly labeled under a single banner.

There’s really no telling what you’re going to get, unless you have done the work to find a vendor who knows their stuff, gives clear, transparent info on their products and processes, and can back it all up with comprehensive, third-party lab testing.

Respect your time, your money, and your health. Do the homework it takes to select only top-quality kratom vendors.
