How to Remove Kratom Dust Stains on Clothes or Fabric

A woman stares at a white shirt with kratom stains

Does kratom stain clothing? If you’ve ever had an unfortunate slip or spill while measuring your dose of kratom powder, you know the answer is, alas, yes. What’s more, a kratom dust stain on clothes can be a particularly tenacious blemish, resisting many forms of cleaning!

Let’s face it: accidents happen. While prevention is always the best way to avoid staining your clothes, most of us will eventually spill a bit of kratom powder on ourselves.

So how to get kratom out of clothes or fabric, you ask? Well, this article is for you.

Prevention: The Best Way to Avoid Pesky Kratom Dust Stains

Although it may sound glib, the best way to avoid a pesky kratom dust stain on clothes is to prevent a spill. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to minimize the chance of spilling renegade kratom powder specks all over your fancy getup.

When measuring your dose of kratom powder, consider trying the following:

  • Use leveled scoops instead of heaping scoops.
    • This will change the measurement of each scoop, so it may require a bit of adjustment. With practice, however, you’ll quickly master the new scooping technique.
  • If transferring your kratom between containers (such as when mixing kratom powder into a beverage or using the “mix and wash” variation of the toss and wash), do so over a sink.
  • Wear a “junk” shirt that you wouldn’t mind getting a little stained.
    • This obviously won’t prevent kratom dust stains on clothes, but will at least protect your favorite clothes from staining.

But, of course, even the most careful technique will occasionally result in accidental spills. When that happens, you need to be equipped with the best tools and tips for getting kratom out of clothes!

Laundry No-no’s: How Not to Get Kratom Out of Clothes

Before we get down to the dirty business of how to get kratom out of clothes, there are a few things you absolutely should not do!

Kratom Dust Stain Don’ts:

  • Do not apply water directly to the stain.

When you apply moisture to kratom powder or dust stains, it can cause the powder to cling to the fibers of your clothing, making the stain even tougher to get out! This is particularly true with cold water, but even warmer temperatures may do more harm than good.

  • Do not rub the kratom dust stain into the fabric.
When treating stains, your first instinct might be to give the blemish a good scrubbing. Resist the urge! Rubbing can make the stain worse by forcing kratom dust into the cloth’s fibers, making it very difficult to remove!

Out Damned Spot! The Best Tips for Removing Kratom Dust Stains

So you’ve accidentally spilled a bit of kratom powder on your finest vestments? Let’s face it; we’ve all been there.

And while kratom dust stains are one of the more tenacious of blotches, fear not! There are a number of tried and true tricks for removing kratom dust stains on your powder or clothes!

Note that the best way to remove a kratom dust stain on clothes will vary depending on several factors. These include the severity of the stain, the type of cloth, and how long it’s already been let to sit. Try a few of these remedies, and you’ll quickly become an expert on how to get kratom out of clothes!

1. Mother Knows Best: Dishwashing Soap and White Vinegar

This trick has been a standby of good housekeeping for generations, and it’s a tried-and-true remedy for any dust stain on clothes.

  1. Mix one tablespoon dishwashing detergent, one tablespoon white vinegar, and two cups of cold water.
  2. Use a clean (preferably white) cloth to SPONGE the stain with the detergent + vinegar solution. Note that some of the stain may transfer to the fabric, so use something you don’t mind getting dirty!
  3. Allow the mix to soak on the stain for about a half an hour while blotting the stain every ~5 minutes using a clean cloth and more solution.
  4. Sponge the spot with cool water until the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Sponge the area with rubbing alcohol, then with cool water.

And voila! With this trick, most pesky kratom dust stains should vanish!

2. What’s Good for the Gander (And Other Animals): Pet Stain Remover

Although it might not be the first thing your mind jumps to for a kratom dust stain on clothes, many pet stain removers are perfectly suited to the task!

Many in the kratom community, including one or two staff members at Kratom Spot, swear by one particular brand: Kids n Pets Instant All-Purpose Stain And Odor Remover.

Always follow the directions for whichever product you try. For Kids n Pets, that means spraying the kratom dust stain on clothes with the solution, letting it sit for 10 minutes, then rubbing it out. Simple as that!

3. Eliminate the Green With OxiClean

Many in the kratom community absolutely swear by the stain-removing power of OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover. And while it might be a tiny bit pricier than some of the other tips listed here, saving your favorite shirt is probably worth the price.

For best results, always be sure to follow the instructions on the packaging! Simply dissolve the recommended amount of OxiClean powder in water, submerge the stained garment in the solution, and let it soak for a few hours. From there, wash the (previously) stained clothing as usual.
