Below is a factual timeline of Kratom Spot’s operational history and the regulatory developments that have shaped our standards since 2014.
2014
Kratom Spot Founded
Kratom Spot launches as an online kratom retailer, establishing early sourcing relationships and internal handling procedures.
2018
FDA Correspondence on Marketing Language
Kratom Spot was one of several kratom vendors that received correspondence from the FDA about marketing language used across the industry at the time. It addressed messaging and labeling, not product safety or a recall. We updated our website and marketing copy in response.
2019
AKA GMP Certification Achieved
Kratom Spot achieves American Kratom Association Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification, formalizing structured quality-control procedures across sourcing, handling, and fulfillment.
2020 – 2024
Formalized Third-Party Testing Program
Batch testing through ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited independent laboratories becomes a standard part of the fulfillment process, alongside internal lot tracking and documentation systems.
2025
Transparency Initiative Launched
Kratom Spot begins building out customer-facing transparency resources, including downloadable lab results and expanded educational content on testing and sourcing.

Transparency Hub & Ongoing Federal Monitoring
The Transparency Hub, including this page, goes live. Separately, the DEA moved to temporarily schedule 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), a compound we’ve never carried in any isolate or concentrate form. We continue tracking this and other regulatory developments affecting kratom.
