The Mit Strength Scale

Every Kratom Spot batch is lab-tested for mitragynine (MIT) and placed on one of four tiers. Slide the scale to find products in the range you want, or compare any two lab results side by side.

Why we built it

A lab result reads like 1.27% or 2.66%. If you're new to kratom, those numbers don't tell you much, and the difference between them is hard to picture. We built the Mit Strength Scale to turn every lab result into a tier you can read at a glance, then link it straight to the batch's full lab report.

Compare two products

Enter the MIT % from any lab result, including another brand's, or tap Compare on a product above. We'll place both on the scale and show how much mitragynine is in a serving.

The four tiers

Each tier covers a range of lab-tested mitragynine content per gram. The pointer on every product page sits inside its tier based on the exact result, so a 1.63% batch shows higher than a 1.42% batch.

Mild

Under 1.36% MIT

Usually: Lighter plain-leaf powders and capsules

The lightest tier on the scale and the easiest place to start. If you're new to kratom or trying a product for the first time, Mild lets you get familiar with it before moving up. Every other tier carries more mitragynine in the same serving.

Standard

1.36% to 1.64% MIT

Usually: Most plain-leaf kratom

The middle of the scale and where most plain-leaf kratom naturally tests. If you've tried kratom before and know what a typical powder or capsule is like, Standard is the baseline the rest of the scale is measured against.

Elevated

1.65% to 1.99% MIT

Usually: Plain leaf that tests above the typical range

More mitragynine per gram than Standard, so the same serving carries more. If you're moving up from Mild or Standard, compare the milligrams per serving before you switch.

High

2.00% and up MIT

Usually: Extracts and enhanced blends

The top of the scale, usually extracts and enhanced blends rather than plain leaf. A High batch can carry close to twice the mitragynine per serving of a Mild one. Best for people who already know where they sit on the scale. If you're new, Mild or Standard is the place to start.

How a batch gets its tier

  1. Every batch is testedSamples go to ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited labs, which report mitragynine as a percentage of dry weight.
  2. We read the MIT % from the lab reportThat single number decides the tier. Nothing else is factored in.
  3. The tier goes on the product pageYou'll see the MIT %, the tier, the gauge, and a Download Lab Results button for that batch.
  4. New batch, new resultWhen a fresh batch comes in, its new lab result updates the page. A product can move tiers between batches.

What the scale measures

  • Mitragynine content per gram, from a lab report
  • Where a batch sits compared to the rest of our catalog
  • How two products compare per serving

What it doesn't measure

  • Overall quality or freshness
  • Other alkaloids in the leaf
  • How much any one person should take

Questions

What does MIT % mean?

It's the share of the product's dry weight that is mitragynine, the most abundant alkaloid in kratom leaf. At 1.50%, one gram contains 15 mg of mitragynine. The math is MIT % × grams × 10.

Where do I find my product's MIT %?

It's shown on every product page next to the gauge. You can also download the full lab report there, or scan the QR code on your order to see results for your specific batch.

Can I tell a tier from the vein color?

No. Vein color and tier are separate. Our White Vein Indo tests at 1.26% (Mild), while our Green Vein Maeng Da tests at 1.79% (Elevated). Use the Type filter to narrow by vein, then check each product's tier.

Does a higher tier mean better kratom?

No. The tier only measures mitragynine content. A Mild batch and a High batch go through the same testing and quality standards.

Why did my product's tier change?

Each batch is tested on its own. If a new batch tests in a different range, the product page updates to show its new tier.

Some products are called "Ultra." Is that a tier?

No. Ultra is part of a product's name. Its tier comes from its lab result, the same as every other product.

Can I check a product from another brand?

Yes. Enter the MIT % from any lab report into the compare tool above to see where it lands on the scale.

Lab-tested. Tiered. Easy to compare.

Every tier links back to a real lab result. Learn more about how we source, process, and test in the Transparency Hub.
