Choosing a kratom supplier for retailers is a different decision from choosing where to buy for yourself. A shop needs stock that shows up on time, paperwork it can keep on file, and products that fit both the shelf and the rules in its state. This guide covers what smoke shops and specialty stores should look for in a wholesale kratom supplier, the questions to ask before committing to regular orders, and how our wholesale program works.

What Retailers Should Look For

  • Consistent inventory, so popular SKUs don’t go out of stock between orders
  • A product range that covers the formats and vein colors your customers ask for
  • Current AKA GMP certification and lot-level lab reports you can file
  • Lab reports that list 7-OH, which matters more than ever in late 2026
  • Clear ordering, reorder, and issue-resolution steps

Why Supplier Choice Matters More for a Shop

When an individual buyer picks the wrong vendor, one order is affected. When a retailer does, every customer who buys from that shelf is affected, and the store’s name is the one on the receipt. Gaps in stock, missing lab reports, or a product that runs into a new state rule land on the retailer first.

That’s why the criteria shift. Product quality still comes first, but reliability, documentation, and compliance support carry far more weight when you’re evaluating a kratom supplier for retailers.

(For the consumer-side version of this process, see our checklist for choosing a kratom vendor.)

The Retailer’s Supplier Checklist

Use this table to compare any kratom supplier for retailers side by side. Each criterion is covered in more detail below.

CriterionWhy It Matters for a ShopWhat to Ask the Supplier
Inventory reliabilityEmpty shelf space costs sales and sends regulars elsewhereHow often do your core SKUs go out of stock, and how do you notify accounts?
SKU breadthCustomers ask by vein color, region, and formatWhich strains and formats can I order, and in what quantities?
Manufacturing certificationShows the supplier follows audited production practicesAre you on the AKA's GMP-qualified vendor list?
Lot-level lab reportsGives you documentation for every batch on your shelfCan I get the report for each lot I receive?
7-OH resultsFederal and state 7-OH rules apply to what you stockDoes every report list 7-hydroxymitragynine?
Ordering consistencyPredictable reorders keep inventory planning simpleWhat's the typical turnaround from order to shipment?
Issue resolutionDamaged or short shipments need a fast fixWho do I contact, and how are wholesale issues handled?

Inventory Reliability

A supplier with a deep catalog isn’t helpful if half of it is out of stock when you reorder. Ask how often core items run out and whether accounts get notice. Track your first few orders: if fulfillment is consistent early, it usually stays that way.

SKU Breadth

Kratom shoppers tend to ask for specifics, such as a vein color, a regional name, or capsules instead of powder. A supplier that covers red, green, and white vein strains across several regions, plus capsules and blends, lets you meet most requests from one account. Our wholesale catalog includes bulk powders and capsules in multiple vein colors and regional varieties, with extract products available to qualified partners.

Manufacturing Certification

Supplier onboarding should include a quick look at the AKA’s roster of GMP-qualified vendors. Getting listed there depends on passing a yearly outside audit. Our own GMP qualification dates back to 2019.

Lot-Level Lab Reports

For a retailer, a lab report is part of your records, not just a trust signal. Ask for the report that matches each lot you receive and keep it with your invoices. If a customer, landlord, or local inspector asks what’s on your shelf, you’ll have an answer. We provide testing details and batch information to approved wholesale customers on request.

7-OH Results

This is the newest item on the list and, for 2026, one of the most important.

On October 14, 2026, the DEA proposed temporary Schedule I control for 7-hydroxymitragynine above a certain threshold (Federal Register notice). The order can’t be issued until at least November 13, and several states already prohibit or cap 7-OH.

Retailers should confirm that every product they stock has a lab report listing its 7-OH result. Our leaf products’ current reports show 7-OH below 0.01%, and 7-OH isolates and concentrates have never been part of our catalog. Here’s how the proposed 7-OH threshold works.

Ordering Consistency and Issue Resolution

Ask how long orders typically take to ship, how reorders work, and who handles problems. Our wholesale orders are handled case by case, and accounts can reach our team by phone at 888-510-2038 or by email at info@kratomspot.com.

How Bulk Sizing Fits a Retail Shelf

Bulk kratom vendors usually offer two very different things: large quantities of retail-ready packages, and large-format bulk product. They serve different store setups.

  • Retail-ready packages go straight to the shelf. Ask which package sizes are available, since small and mid sizes tend to move fastest at the counter.
  • Large-format bulk suits stores that package their own product. Repackaging can bring its own labeling and testing obligations, depending on your state.

For reference, our public catalog ranges from 2 oz bags to 1 kg bags of kratom powder and from 50- to 1,000-count bottles of kratom capsules, plus multi-strain blends and Ultra products in our extracts collection. Wholesale partners can also discuss custom quantities for larger volumes.

Mixing formats is often the practical answer: a few fast-moving powder sizes, a capsule option for convenience shoppers, and a short list of blends.

Questions to Ask Before Committing to Regular Orders

Before you commit to any kratom supplier for retailers, get clear answers to these:

  1. Who qualifies for your wholesale program, and what does approval involve?
  2. What are your minimum order requirements for each product type?
  3. How is pricing tiered as order volume grows?
  4. Will I receive the lab report for every lot I order?
  5. Does every report list 7-OH, mitragynine, microbial, and heavy metals results?
  6. Are products shipped retail-ready, in bulk, or both?
  7. How do you handle damaged, short, or incorrect shipments?
  8. Which states and localities can you ship to?

A supplier that answers these clearly before your first order is likely to be just as clear after it.

State Retail Rules Vary

Most kratom retail rules come from state legislatures and city or county governments, and they differ widely. The DEA’s October 14 filing counts 19 states that have passed a version of the Kratom Consumer Protection Act, while other states and localities ban kratom outright or restrict 7-OH. Requirements can include minimum purchase ages, labeling rules, and limits on certain product types.

Check your state and local rules before stocking any kratom product, and recheck them regularly. Our tracker of state kratom laws follows changes as they happen, and our compliance and regulatory history shows how we document our own record. This article is general information, not legal advice.

How Our Wholesale Program Works

Our wholesale kratom program is built for licensed retailers, distributors, smoke shops, wellness stores, and e-commerce brands. It isn’t available for personal use.

  1. Apply. Submit the form on our wholesale page with your business details.
  2. Talk with a specialist. A member of our team follows up to review your needs.
  3. Get approved. Approved accounts receive tiered pricing, minimums, and ordering details.
  4. Order and reorder. Place orders through your account, with batch information available on request.

Inventory varies, so product availability and quantities are confirmed after approval. We don’t set strict resale pricing, and we expect partners to follow the rules in their own state and locality.
